FY 2015 Accomplishments

Website Refresh, Facebook and
Twitter
In FY 2015, OSE units responded to 1,149 calls
during 352 special events citywide.
Social media has enabled the
Arlington Fire Department to
enhance communication with the
public and foster productivity. In the
last year, we have doubled our
followers on Twitter and likes on
Facebook. We continue to update
information on
our website and
social media
sites to stay
connected with
the community.
College Football Championship
The inaugural
College Football
National
Championship was
held at AT&T
stadium on January
12, 2015. The paid
attendance was over
85,000 and over 33
million people viewed the event on television.
AFD Recognized by the City
Manager’s Office
Country Music Awards Show
In April 2015, AT&T Stadium
hosted the 50th Annual
Academy of Country Music
Awards Show. The three-day
event included two nights of
concerts at Globe Life Park
for the “Party for a Cause.”
The awards show had an
attendance of over 55,000
and the Party brought in
more than 49,000 over two
days.

The Arlington Fire Department received
recognition for seven major projects in FY
2015. The AFD was acknowledged for their
participation in the Community Superheroes
Tour Event, for IT program updates, the LABC
Gas Well incident, Ebola response and severe
weather responses, the National College
Football Championship, and the Academy of
Country Music Awards events.
