Page 53 Squad 4 Annual Program Review As part of the strategic initiatives in FY2013 directed by the Fire Chief, an in depth analytical review of the Squad 4 LRV (Light Response Vehicle) was completed. Goals were set for Engine 4 and Squad 4 which include reviewing the workload distribution and ensuring that Station #4's home district was not experiencing a decrease in service level or response times. Program goals for Squad 4 were also detailed and included determining if the majority of calls responded to were EMS related, to ensure response times for EMS and Fire calls were within performance standards, and evaluating mileage and fuel savings. The overall results of the study for the identified goals reflect that Squad 4 performed within the program service area and service response guidelines. Efficiencies were also identified and are in the process of implementation. Engine and Quint Utilization Brief In FY2013 Quarter 4, a preliminary analysis was conducted to look at how many engines and quints were dispatched and arrived to fires requiring a full alarm assignment. The initial considerations include the following: The study identified the total calls for service and average total response times for all engines and quints. Unit utilization for all engines and quints was reviewed to see how many of each type of vehicle was dispatched.
