As part of the Fire Department's concentration on CPR refinement, one of the
measures identified in the FY2012 Annual Report was updated to align with
recommendations of the American Heart Association. A critical
implementation was to get 9-1-1 callers reporting cardiac arrests to begin
CPR prior to AEMSS arrival.
The Utstein Survival Criteria KPIs are listed below:
Elapsed time from when a call for service is received by the Arlington 9-1-1
Communication center until the first AEMSS unit arrives at the patient.
The percent of cardiac arrests meeting the Utstein Survival criteria.

CPR Time to the new metric in FY2013 of 9-1-1 Dispatch Initiate Time to
