Page 50 The Arlington Emergency Medical Services System (AEMSS) is comprised of the Arlington Fire Department and American Medical Response (AMR). 45% of all persons with cardiac arrest meeting the Utstein Survival Criteria As part of the Fire Department's concentration on CPR refinement, one of the measures identified in the FY2012 Annual Report was updated to align with recommendations of the American Heart Association. A critical implementation was to get 9-1-1 callers reporting cardiac arrests to begin CPR prior to AEMSS arrival. The Utstein Survival Criteria KPIs are listed below: Elapsed time from when a call for service is received by the Arlington 9-1-1 Communication center until the first AEMSS unit arrives at the patient.
