AFD implemented the first stage of the Intergraph
Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system.
On Tuesday, March 26, 2013, the City of Arlington’s Public
Safety departments implemented a new public safety software
solution. Intergraph applications are Windows based and are
currently working in a Windows 7 64 bit environment. The
Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) offers two solutions for
Dispatch Services: I/Calltaker and I/Dispatcher. I/Calltaker is
utilized to enter the initial call received by 911 and is displayed
on two monitors. I/Dispatcher is used to assign units to 911
incidents and place units on field initiated calls and mark outs
and is displayed on three monitors. It also aids in unit allocation through I/Tracker and allows
access to regional, state, and federal criminal justice information through I/Informer. Fire personnel
are not only able to access a list of calls and units on their mobile computers, but they also have the
ability to view active calls and unit activity on a map of the city and surrounding areas. In addition to
CAD and MPS, Intergraph offers a web based application called I/Netviewer allowing users to view
call and unit information through Internet
Explore as long as the computer has City
network access.
