Natural Gas Well Preparedness
and Response
In 2012, the Fire Rescue Division led a
team from across the City in the design
and implementation of the Natural Gas
Well Safety and Preparedness Program.
This program is managed daily in the
Special Operations Section of the
Department. The Arlington Fire
Department’s charge is to safeguard the
citizens, visitors, and neighborhoods
through a systematic approach of
preventative measures, code
compliance, response capacity, and industry partnerships. The long term security and economic
viability of the natural gas industry in Arlington is a priority.
