Newsletter Title Page 19 Special Operations The Arlington Fire Department‘s Special Operations group managed multiple CBRNE issues during the 2010 Post Season/World Series Events, in excess of standard operating procedures for a professional baseball game. A joint Special Services Branch Command Post was staffed by key personnel from the Fire Department‘s Special Operations Group and Explosives Ordinance Disposal Team Coordination of multiple jurisdictional agencies and work groups to provide immediate monitoring, detection, and incident response groups for CBRNE related incidents on the event footprint in conjunction with providing immediate on -site reach back capabilities. Special Events The Arlington Fire Department‘s Special Events Team had an outstanding year which included two professional sports franchise seasons, concerts, and specialized venue events and then culminated in three of the highest-profile special events in the country: the October 2010 World Series, the January 2011 Cotton Bowl, and the February 2011 Super Bowl. The planning and coordination provided by this group of professionals exceeded expectations and promulgated a new national standard in Special Event planning and operations. 19 Working Together to Make Arlington Better.
