The Fire Chief has made performance measurements a critical aspect of organizational goals and processes to ensure the Arlington Fire Department is able to evaluate, control, budget, motivate, learn, and improve. Key Performance Indicators (KPI) have been segmented into the following four categories: Workload KPIs measure the demand for service. Community Risk Reduction KPIs measure reducing the possibility of loss or injury. Effectiveness KPIs measure the work performed to the resources provided. Result or outcome KPIs measure the effect of workload and efficiency measures. Overall, the KPIs measure the implementation of cost saving strategies, actual performance, critical risk reduction initiatives, and operational efficiency.
