Due to increasing case load volume and complexity , this position will help ensure that the Planning Department is able to manage the increased workload . To ensure reasonable turnaround time , the addition of the Planner II will provide added capacity for the department moving forward .
COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST ( 1.0 FTE ) $ 80,700
The Town of Garner ' s Communications Department continues to work towards ensuring that the Town provides high quality communication and engagement to residents . This position would ensure that the department continues to improve the Town ' s social media foot print , branding , website interface , and all other forms of communication with residents .
ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN ( 1.0 FTE ) $ 96,500
Due to increasing demand on the Town ’ s Engineering Department , this position will provide capacity within the department , and focus on many day-to-day technical tasks conducted by the department . This position will ensure that the department is providing high quality service to residents .
BUILDING INSPECTOR III ( 1.0 FTE ) $ 121,000
As the Town continues to grow , there is a need to continue building the Inspections ' Department capacity to ensure efficient service delivery . This position will conduct plan review work for the Inspections Department , and ensure that the Town is providing quality plan review that complies with all regulatory and safety requirements .
DEVELOPMENT SERVICES SPECIALIST ( 1.0 FTE ) $ 104,000
This position will help ensure that the Inspections Department is efficiently handling the increased demand related to growth and development within the Town . With the addition of a new development services software , this position helps to build internal capacity within the department to meet demand .
LEAD BUILDING INSPECTORS ( 2.0 FTE ) $ 337,100
Due to increasing demand on the Town ' s Inspections Department , the addition of two mid-level supervisors , will allow the department to split the Town into two sections to meet workload demand and ensure proper span of control . The addition of two supervisors will ensure staff are able to conduct quality inspections that meet all regulatory requirements and safety standards .
