Funding is included to continue to support the Information Technology Department with the crucial work of protecting Town technology assets and maintaining efficient service delivery levels .
ARMORED CAR SERVICE $ 15,000
This request will allow for safe and secure transport of deposits , and ensure that Town staff remain safe when conducting their official duties . As the Town continues to grow , the need for secure transport of deposits remains critical .
ENGINEERING PROJECT MANAGER ( 1.0 FTE ) $ 108,000
This position will support the continued need to effectively manage large-scale parks capital projects such as Yeargan Park and the Lake Benson Boat House . This position will help build capacity within the Engineering project management team , and ensure that the department has the ability to conduct high quality project management work for larger projects .
LEGAL DEPARTMENT CERTIFICATION & TRAINING $ 10,000
This request supports the Legal Department as it continues to grow with the addition of an Assistant Town Attorney . This funding will ensure the department is up to date with certifications and required training to continue to provide efficient legal services for the Town .
HUMAN RESOURCES GROWTH EXPENSES $ 15,950
This request provides support for the Town Human Resources Department to remain successful in Town safety and recruitment efforts . This request will ensure that all currently accredited staff can continue to maintain these credentials and support the Town ' s workforce .
PARKS & GREENWAYS PLANNING MANAGER ( 1.0 FTE ) $ 110,500
This position will be responsible for increasing collaboration with the Engineering Department to increase project oversight and completion of parks capital projects . This positions will provide greater operational flexibility and ensure effective management of Town resources .
LEGAL INTERN BUDGET INCREASE $ 10,500
Due to increasing demand on the Town ’ s Legal Department , this request would ensure that the Town is remaining competitive with area peers in recruitment and retention of top talent from the areas best law schools . Legal interns provide critical assistance for the Legal Department each year .
POLICE CORPORALS ( 4.0 FTE ) $ 735,000
As the Town continues to grow , the addition of four police corporals will allow the Garner Police Department to ensure effective span-of-control within the department and with service delivery to the community .
