SUPPORTING ARLINGTON’ S SMALL BUSINESS GROWTH IN 2024
The Arlington EDC launched two small businesses initiatives in 2024. The SCORE Cohort Partnership mentored 20 small businesses in monthly classes focused on business growth, including one-on-one sessions with SCORE mentors. The Arlington EDC’ s partnership with LiftFund offers 0 % interest loans to Arlington small businesses, for which two companies were approved in FY 2024.

• Salcomp, one of the world’ s leading manufacturers of power supplies for mobile and electronic devices from Finland, committed to establishing its U. S. headquarters in Arlington. Headquartered in Salo, Finland, the company has over 12,000 employees around the globe.
• E-space, Inc. is a startup global telecommunications and satellite manufacturer founded in 2022. They offer an advanced, sustainable low Earth orbit space system to enable hyper-scaled deployments of space-based Internet of Things solutions and services. The company will establish its headquarters and satellite manufacturing facility( 250,000 sq. ft. in its initial phase) at the Arlington Municipal Airport.
• Acciona Facility Services is a 100-year-old multinational conglomerate based in Spain and will establish its U. S. headquarters for their facility services division in Arlington. With four core lines of business including renewable energies, water management, construction and facility services, they have over 57,000 employees in 40 countries.
• GAC Media, a prominent media enterprise holding U. S. cable networks Great American Family and Great American Faith & Living as well as streaming services, will relocate its corporate headquarters from Fort Worth. The company will establish a minimum of 20 high-quality jobs at the new location in Arlington.
• The City of Arlington and the City of Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Germany memorialized their official status as Friendship Cities in a signing ceremony on Nov. 4, 2024. A Friendship Cities relationship often serves as a steppingstone to a more formal relationship between two cities and is typically centered around a project – in this case, the Texas Christkindl Market.
• AT & T Stadium in Arlington was awarded nine 2026 FIFA World Cup matches, in partnership with the Cowboys, FC Dallas, the City of Arlington and the Dallas Sports Commission – the most of any host city. The event is expected to bring in nearly $ 400 million in revenue while creating as many as 3,000 new jobs.
• The City of Arlington, in partnership with the Texas Rangers and Major League Baseball, hosted the 2024 All-Star Game and All-Star Week. The week featured a line-up of events and activities including the HBCU Swingman Classic, All-Star Village, MLB Draft, youth baseball and softball tournaments and All-Star Red Carpet show. Based on estimates, MLB All-Star Week attracted more than 35,000 out-of-state visitors and generated $ 86 million in direct spending.
