WELCOME TO SEPTEMBER. It’ s been a busy year so far & we still have more to come. The South Dock repairs have been completed along with the repair of several pilings. The Scat boat lift has also been rebuilt in a way that should better protect it and keep grease from dripping on the scat boat. On the down side, Izzy has left our club and we are searching for a new maintenance person. In the meantime, if you notice something amiss, please fill out a work chit and leave it on the bulletin board in the office. This will ensure it gets addressed in a timely manner.
Speaking of‘ down’, that is exactly what happened to our hoist at the launch ramp. A committee has been formed to look at various replacement designs and to make a recommendation to the Board. We hope to find a solution that lasts another 50 years!
With the weather cooling a bit, we will start thinking of painting the clubhouse as scheduled in the five year plan. This will be a combination of contracted and self-help activity to avoid putting members at risk while also controlling costs.
Shortly, we will be scheduling a fall work day to tackle a few items around the property. Stay tuned for further information. In the meantime, enjoy the facility and the friendships!
