All Juniors are invited to participate in the Meet & Greet on March 3rd, 3:00 – 5:00 in
the Castaway Room. Encourage our Juniors to attend the Meet & Greet. Our Chairman,
Diane Wells has some great activities planned for the summer!
March Raft Up will be at Hogtown Bayou on March 3rd & 4th. Contact Bill Bushelle for details.
The Final Zevin Race is March 4th, followed by the Mongolian BBQ. This has been a tra-
dition with FWYC for more years than I can remember. Come out and celebrate the last
race and enjoy the food and fun with our sailors.
2018 FWYC Spring Fling meeting will be held at the club on March 8th. Alan & Jackie
Chapman have volunteered to head up the effort for the week-long cruise on the coast.
Any cruisers or new to cruising enthusiasts are encouraged to attend the meeting. Check
the bulletin board for time and place.
Wednesday Night Fun Races begin on March 14th. We will begin the season with an or-
ganizational meeting on March 7th to go over details and anyone wishing to participate
is welcome to join in. We have had discussion of a novice and/or cruising fleet for the
series. If you are interested, please attend the meeting.
On March 17th, we will have a Shamrock Regatta. The Shamrock boat is a remote-con-
trolled sailboat built by Beattie Purcell. Everyone is welcome to participate in the event.
Join us at the Brinckmann Pavilion at 11am. Bring a picnic lunch and maybe something to
share.
US Sailing Level One Instructor Course will be held March 22nd – 25th, there are three
slots available for anyone wishing to take the class.
Keep an eye on the bulletin board for changes in schedule, procedures and policies for
checking out boats or requirements and practices for sailing Capdevielle.
