busy May has raced by as we
A
speed toward summer. Ap-
propriately kicked off by the the
Kentucky Derby party put to-
gether by Jennifer & Sam Grant,
Adele Levesque (before departing
for northern climates) and Mary
Bello. Following on the next week
was the well attended Mother’s
Day brunch with lovely table dec-
orations courtesy of Wini Jimmer-
son, Karen David and Jenna Burg-
er. The following weekend brought
the Family Fun Day that saw the
lawn filled with food, items for
sale, children’s games and crafts,
boat rides and information tables
followed by the Blessing of the Fleet. By the time you read this, we will
have also had our Memorial Day potluck.
June slows down a bit. Don’t forget First Friday on June 2 featur-
ing the music of Stevie Hall. Our Pirate Party will be on June 10 from
5:00 to 9:00. This will feature music by Flash Flood, food service and
costume competitions for Wenches, Buccaneers and possibly other cate-
gories. June 24 is the day of the international Summer Sailstice. We will
be doing our part to get boats
on the water, too. Watch for
further details on this. If you
have any suggestions for activi-
ties, please contact me, a com-
mittee member or leave a note
in my mailbox. Let’s keep the
club filled. Happy Partying.
