If you want to catch a ride come on down to the patio not later than 4:30 on Wednesday afternoon and we will get you on a boat! Our annual Billy Bowlegs Regatta was a blast with nine club boats racing and our traditional Pirate Party on Sat- urday evening. Thank you, Entertainment Committee, for a great party! And our Race Committee for the weekend did a fabulous job on the wa- ter! Director Lou Richard, David Seaton, Phyllis Seaton, Robb Rennie, Pat Rennie, Cece Stoldt, John Farris, Jim Williford, Gerry Harvey, and Cindi Barber. Thank you to all of the people who continue to make our club great by volunteering their time and energy! Four boats from FWYC participated in the GYA Challenge Cup in Gulfport, Mississippi this year. Thank you, Craig and Deborah Wilusz, for organizing the out of town event! Our skippers this year were: Craig Wilusz, Paul Beaudry, Rob Brown and Jennifer Grant. Thank you to everyone who participated. Our trophy committee has included information concerning the removal of trophies from the club and ask that everyone please comply with the new procedure attached. Please keep in mind that our by-laws state: ARTICLE III - DUTIES OF COMMITTEES, Section 20 - Trophy Committee. "Trophies, traveling or otherwise, will not leave the Yacht Club premises without the knowledge or permission of the Committee Chairman". The Meigs Regatta, our own Capdevielle event and will be held on July 7th & 8th. We always need volunteers so If you have some time to spare for our Capdevielle event this year, please let me know. Our Entertainment Committee is planning a party after the first day of racing and I know it will be a blast! I hope everyone will attend to help support our Sailors for sailors and welcome our visitors. the Sea awarded FWYC the Sil- ver Level Clean Regattas Certification for our part See you around the club, in the US Sailing Multihull Championship/Wetafest. Shari Seaton FWYC and staff was awarded the certification for our part by sup- FWYC Fleet Captain porting a paperless regatta, providing water stations and refillable water bottles, removing the use of plastics and foam, adding recycling bins for use during the event and other environmentally friendly activities. Some of the practices are new to our club but with a little repetition we can sustain these new habits and become more responsive to our en- vironment. Thank you to FWYC Staff and all participants for all of your efforts in helping keep our waterways clean. 12
