Page 4 In Port In Memory of Betty Zdenek Rosenbaum Ahoy, everyone! 1926 - 2014 Well, we’ve made it through June and now summer has officially started. We’re moving into the heart of the hottest season of the year. So first of all, I’d like to take this opportunity to encourage everyone to take care of yourselves. Drink plenty of fluids (water especially!), avoid overheating, use sunscreen, get plenty of rest – all the good advice you’re used to getting. The summer season can be stressful on our health. Likewise, the heat, humidity, and storms of summer can be stressful on our facilities here at Fort Walton Yacht Club. I ask all of you to keep your e yes and ears open for any problems you might notice on the property. If you do notice something, please report it on one of the maintenance forms that are tacked to the bulletin board. Let’s make sure we are all looking out for our Club property and facilities. That task has been more difficult than usual in the past month. Our maintenance man, David Brown, was out of action for a while with a medical problem. By the time you read this, he will have returned to work. Let’s all welcome him back – I’m certainly glad to see him! Our General Manager, Eric Mattiza, has been working extra duty to help keep up with maintenance, and so have our wonderful member volunteers, who continue to work in big and small ways to keep our Club property attractive. A hearty thanks to you all! I really do enjoy all the boating fun, fellowship and camaraderie of FWYC. As always, I’d like to close by saying that I hope you take advantage of all the Club has to offer. I look forward to seeing you there!
