Three favourite garment tasks

I have selected this dress because it is my favourite dress and I first bought it on my 13th birthday. I don’t wear it much, mostly to more formal events and the last time I wore it was at a wedding.

The movement and flow of this dress makes me feel confident and sophisticated.

This dress is made of 94% polyester, 6% elastane.

The care instructions are to not use products containing bleach or oil and hand wash at 30c inside out, also do not wring and do not tumble dry.

My dress was made in China and the minimum wage for garment workers in China is 21 RMB per hour, which is equal to £2.35 in England.

I am surprised that even Ted Baker has their garments made in China because I would have expected that being an English brand they would make everything in England.

I have selected this leather jacket because it is a jacket that I wear often and it goes with many outfits.

This garment makes me feel modern and comfortable, it is warm enough for Autumn and cool enough to wear in Spring.

My Jacket is made from 100% leather and the lining is 100% polyester.

To wash this you should dry clean by a specialist.

This was made in Bangladesh and the minimum wage for garment workers here is 248 BDT per hour, which is £2.24 in England.

I am aware that it is cheaper for the companies to manufacture their garments in countries like Bangladesh to increase their profit margins. I did however think that because this jacket is leather that it might be made in Italy and I was surprised by this.
