Y oung Enterprise is challenging young people aged 11-19 to investigate responsible consumerism, the impact consumer choices can have on our finances and the environment, and the different options we have for raising awareness of an issue. The goal is to create a Challenge2020 Portfolio, working individually or in teams of up to four. Submit one of the following campaign materials by a deadline of Friday 3 July 2020. After this date, you could still try the exercise as a creative learning activity. 1 Energy: 2 Fashion: 3 Food: A poster, flyer or article to raise awareness of the financial and environmental benefits of conserving energy An article, blog or flyer to raise awareness of the financial and environmental impacts of fast fashion An information sheet, article or poster to raise awareness of the financial and environmental benefits of reducing food waste You can submit up to two additional campaign materials to support your entry. See the Challenge Pack for full guidelines. Do it from home The challenge materials were designed to be delivered in small groups or a classroom setting, but the home environment offers new, exciting opportunities for learning. The topics covered have explicit links to the family and the home. Young people could carry out independent research to find out more about particular areas that interest them. Parents can help students find practical ways to bring their learning to life: Food: Why not involve young people in the weekly shop, develop menus together or start a family food diary? Fashion: Explore ways that unworn or old clothes could be upcycled and have a go at it yourselves. Energy: Work together to calculate the cost of wasted energy and create a plan to reduce household energy waste. Prizes: The overall winning entry will receive £500 for their school/organisation. Each member of the winning entry will also receive a £50 All 4 One Voucher. Two runner-up entries will each win £250 for their school/organisation and each entrant will also receive a £25 All 4 One Voucher. Download the Challenge Pack
