Day 3

We started the 3rd day of the mobility with a visit at the Hellenic Bank of Cyrpus to have a talk to Mr. Andreas Papadoupoulos, the Manager of the Business Division, about the effect of excessive consumption on individuals.

Then, we visited the Cyprus Handicraft Center, where we had the opportunity to get in touch with traditional handmade objects (curtains, bags, tablecloths, bowls, chests etc).

Later in the afternoon, we visited Larnaca. There, we went to the Wincono Windfarm, which has 21 turbines. The lenght of a turbine is 85 metres and they produce 5% of the energy in Cyprus. Just like the solar pannels, the wind turbines are very important for the protection of the environment.

Day 4

The 4th day of the mobility was cutural. First, we went to the ChoiroKoitia Neolithic Site. It was discovered in 1934. There, we saw the Neolithical houses of those people, that had in their middle the place where the dead people were burried. The settlement needed to be built near a river or a water source and on a hill, so that the people could see what happened in the neighbourhood. The Choirokoitia site was listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1998.

Later, we visited the Kourion Archaeological Site, which contains a Theatre, built towards the end of the 2nd century BC and which could seat up to 3000 people. Because of the earthquakes, it was almost totally destroyed, so it needed to be reconstructed.

In the afternoon, we visited the Limassol Marina.
