It is made by wrapping rice up with bamboo leaves. So that after it is steamed, you can taste the faint scent of the bamboo leaves. Flat vermicelli with beef and shrimp was my favorite in C’om. You can choose one or two from lamp, beef, and shrimp to go with flat vermicelli. The meat tasted like it was barbecued and also had a kind of sweet flavor. It is a little bit crispy on the edge but was not overcooked. Before eating it, I was actually involved in the cooking process myself. The restaurant served us with dried rice paper, hot water, all kinds of vegetables include lettuce, coriander, carrots, cucumber and even a kind of sliced fruit. First, I dipped the dried rice paper in the hot water to soften it and put vegetables, meat, flat vermicelli and a sweet sauce made of fermented flour on it next. At last I wrapped everything up with the rice paper. I am always a big fan of things made of sticky rice. So the rice paper and flat vermicelli are my favorites. I could not stop eating because of this amazing combination of he sweetness of meat, the fresh and savory of vegetables and the sticky taste of the rice paper. This idea of DIY your own food made my eating experience more interesting. And also the food was coming out really quick since there were not many cooking processes that the chef needs to deal with other than barbecue the meat.
Although C’om has such great food, it is not expensive at all. It cost us less around 25 dollar to get everything we want for 2 people. The service was great. They were quick, professional and friendly. For a lot of Asian restaurant on Buford Highway, you can hardly see any Americans. However, in C’om Americans are the main customers. So, don’t be hesitate and try some Vietnam food at C’om!
