Every year we fund new research projects at universities and hospitals around the UK. As a result of our research, we know more about key problem areas: what causes epilepsy, improving diagnosis, novel ways of treating the condition, reducing side effects of anti- epileptic drugs, preventing memory loss and identifying patients who will benefit from effective surgical intervention. New research offers the very real possibility of further breakthroughs and developing new therapies to help transform the lives of those affected by epilepsy.
