Research takes time.
Every hour, every day, every week counts.
Every day three people in the UK and Ireland suffer a traumatic spinal cord injury. Spinal cord injury can
happen to anyone at any time, the effects are devastating and life changing. It’s not just walking – it’s the
inability to breathe independently, to control your bladder and bowel, to lift a cup to take a drink – to hug a
loved one good night. Spinal Research is the UK’s leading charity funding medical research to find a cure
for paralysis caused by spinal cord injury.
A split second on a beautiful summer afternoon and a slip while playing on
a climbing frame transformed eight year old Bel’s life forever. Her childhood
was shattered.
Bel spent ten months in intensive care and remains paralysed from the
neck down, unable to look after herself and completely reliant on her family
and carers.
Bel faces a lifetime of care unless there is a treatment for her paralysis.
That is why our scientists are working hard to find a cure.
Remember Spinal Research in your Will and leave a legacy of hope.
With everyone’s help we believe paralysis can be beaten.
