LUSH Interiors, partnering with Katra Construction, transformed a Calgary home into a refined, familycentric space, balancing quiet luxury with real-world function. Principal Designer Charlene Threatful emphasizes harmony of form and function. Layered lighting and soft, neutral palettes maximized natural light and flow. Standout features included a 12-foot Taj Mahal quartz island, fluted fireplace millwork, and custom hood designs, adding elegance without excess. Strategic zoning, multifunctional rooms, and ample storage offered adaptability for a growing family. Challenges like budget constraints became opportunities through preserving existing elements and investing in timeless finishes. This project embodies LUSH Interiors’ philosophy: luxury is about thoughtful, effortless design that supports everyday life, resulting in a timeless and inviting home with purpose and enduring quality.
Ami McKay’ s # puresilversearesidence renovation is a masterclass in balanced texture, tone, and tailored functionality. The kitchen features a rich interplay of walnut wood and smoky blue cabinetry, with a unique grasscloth wallpaper backsplash protected behind glass for subtle texture. Upon entry, walls in the foyer were removed to enhance flow, and clever millwork discreetly conceals the pantry, washer, and dryer. In the living space, a custom built-in highlights the homeowners’ globally curated art and travel collections. The living room was conceived as a calm, open gallery centered on the ever-changing Granville Island view, with understated finishes and a disappearing fireplace. The bathroom offers a serene retreat with layers of rich walnut, ocean pearl quartzite, and strikingly veined Laison Clemente tile, designed for natural beauty and intentional starts to the day. This renovation reflects thoughtful design at every turn, creating beautiful, functional, and personal spaces.
