Let your greatness blossom.” - Nelson Mandela Publisher Dales Nesbit at Full Circle posed the question, “What does Mandela mean to you?” to our unique blend of different aged, gender and race staff, and our answers were as diverse as our backgrounds. “When travelling, the first thing foreigners say when finding out that you’re South African, is. . . “Oh, you’re from the country Nelson Mandela is from,”” says Brand Ambassador, Samantha Gair. This is usually true. South Africa is identified by the actions of one man who had fought the fight and set the foundation for the country we find ourselves in today. But he is also seen as an iconic figure due to the extreme humility he had shown, once he finally walked free out of prison. “If punched with a fist, it is in our human nature to hit back harder, and this is something Mandela did not do, and that is why I admire him” said Ryan Lill, of Full Circle Print. Many-to-all religions emphasise the importance of humility, forgiveness and the importance of loving thy neighbour. It’s these principles that separate the average individual from the world changer. Madiba is the living testament that the characteristics of one individual are enough to change the world, and that is what the Mandela 67 is meant to show us.
