N OT many chefs can be found working the line in their own kitchens anymore; they’re far too busy thinking up and launching new restaurants, writing cookbooks, developing products of various kinds, and, of course, appearing on TV. Being Leon “Powerhouse” White isn’t just a job or a hobby: It’s a way of life. Hailing from beautiful sunny South Florida, to be exact - a small city known as “Exit 36”, and sharing the same home-town as Kodak Black - Leon “Powerhouse” White is making his name known throughout the Tri-Counties for his culinary expertise. Embarking on a culinary journey hasn’t always been farfetched. He recalls being raised in a house-hold full of cooks. “Cooking has always been my thing.” Leon is a native from Pompano Beach, Florida. He has had his trials and tribulations to overcome as he encountered a longer tenure completing his degree, losing loved ones, being a full-time father, and AUG-SEP R.indd 20 even run-ins with the Law. Despite these obstacles, Leon continues to aim towards greatness. Being referred to as a “Powerhouse” is surely shy of all the attributes Leon possesses. Leon is a multi-talented Chef & Entrepreneur who also has his foot in the fashion industry; offering styling to those who prefer to wear trend-setting & stylish clothing. Leon also mentors numerous students at his Alma mater, Blanche Ely High School, in lieu of helping them to develop their own passion in Culinary, by offering them classes. Leon’s master piece, The Belly Clinic offers a wide range of delicious foods that are rich in flavor and mind blowing.
