FHS ’ s Career & Technical Education programs aim to cultivate lifelong learners for tomorrow ’ s workforce . The CTE program offers students a variety of classes and endorsements to choose from , including the STEM Endorsement ( Science , Technology , Engineering , and Mathematics ). STEM pathways include the Computer Science / Technology Cluster and the Engineering Cluster ( Project Lead the Way ). The Business and Industry Endorsement offers the Agricultural Science Cluster , the Arts , Audio / Video , Technology and Communication Cluster , the Business and Finance Cluster , the Hospitality / Culinary Cluster , and the Marketing Cluster . Lastly , the Public Service Endorsement offers the Education and Training Cluster , the Health Science Career Cluster , and the Law , Public Safety , and Correction , Security Cluster .
Part of our CTE program includes the Project Lead The Way ( PLTW ) curriculum . PLTW is the leading provider of rigorous and innovative STEM ( science , technology , engineering , and math ) education curricular programs used in schools . PLTW exists to prepare students for the global economy through its world-class curriculum , high-quality professional development , and an engaged network of educators , students , universities , and professionals . PLTW ’ s comprehensive curriculum has been collaboratively designed by PLTW teachers , university educators , engineering and biomedical professionals , and school administrators to promote critical thinking , creativity , innovation , and real-world problem-solving skills in students . The hands-on , project-based program engages students on multiple levels , exposes them to areas of study that they typically do not pursue , and provides them with a foundation and proven path to college and career success .
