Friendship across Cultures Vol. 1 | Page 26

The advantages of having friends from other cultures is knowing different people, developing the skills needed to work in a team, such as understanding others, being able to communicate and listening to others, being able to trust them, learning certain things from their country or religion and learning their language.

Friendship across cultures enables us to communicate with people from around the world and to be open to their customs and traditions. We discover new ways of thinking, as each society has its own ideas, ways of living, religions, etc.

Knowing someone from another culture makes us rethink our own values and attitudes towards the world and the others.

With this project we learned to communicate and deal with people from another country (Portugal and Morocco, in this case), we also learned a little more about their lives and traditions. For example, we exchanged letters about our hometowns and we learned more about these places.

In our opinion this project was one of the best things that happened to us because we learned to talk and deal with other people. It was fun and interesting because we had never imagined doing a project with people from another country, and we loved doing this project and meeting other people.

We really loved this experience through which we got to know nice people. We consider ourselves fortunate to have participated in this project proposed by teachers Celeste Simões and Hicham Ait Ouaarab, and with it we learned the value of cooperation and real friendship, so thank you for this experience!
