MOSI LAB REPORT

Ramp Lab

Why this experiment? Using graphical skills to analyze the results of the Acceleration Lab to identify properties of the motion and their corresponding graphical and mathematical representations.

Time: t

A period of time that takes to move something.

Velocity: v

How fast or slow an object is going.

Position: x

Tells us where the starting point is.

Acceleration: a

The change in the change of the velocity/the change time, so the acceleration of an object is directly proportional to the net force acting on it

Purpose: The purpose of this is to find out acceleration vs. time, time vs. position, and velocity vs. time.

Sequence of Steps Follow:

We put a track on 4 books and recorded the object going down the ramp on the computer using logger pro.

The car is going in a negative direction because it is going down.

The position is at the top of the track where the books are at in front of the car.

On logger pro I set the origin in front of the car and added points all the way down the ramp closely to each other. I also set a scale on the ramp and the distance is 122 cm long.

We collected the data of the car going down which gave us velocity and time.
