SOCIALS
Hi! We’re Heather and Chloe and are in 3rd year. We’re
your Social Secretaries for 2019/20 so our job is to
organise some great social events to fill the calendar over
this coming year, like Welcome Back Party!
Below you’ll find a very useful guide to Livepool Nightlife...
MONDAY - THE RAZ
Chloe McGrath &
Heather Todd, 3rd year
TUESDAY - SKINT
If you fancy going out and
listening to something other than
‘Come on Eileen’, Skint is the
place to go. The place is split in
two, one side playing techno/
disco and one side hip hop/ RnB
so it’s got some good variation.
The Raz – formally known as the Blue Angel nightclub – is probably where
you will spend most of your year. You’ll be welcomed by Queen Val and some
nice warm Raz Juice. Drinks are very cheap, the floors are sticky, BUT this is a
must to complete your Liverpool experience.
TOP TIP:
Don’t wear shoes that you value to the Raz, especially white ones.
WEDNESDAY - FACULTY
This renowned ‘sports bar’ on Slat-
er Street is a must visit on a night
out. Home of the Quad Vod, guar-
anteed to set you up for a banging,
cheap night out. The music can be
questionable, but once the quad vod
kicks in you won’t notice. Wednesday
is sports night at the uni, so expect it
to be pretty busy in Faculty with most
people heading to Level Wednesday
afterwards.
THURSDAY - HEEBIES
F ormerly ‘Quids In’ it’s now called
Dirty Antics Thursday. With £1 entry
and £1 drinks all night, what more
could you want? It’s got three levels
with different music on each floor so
you can mix it up. Variety is the spice
of life after all.
TOP TIP:
This is a really popular event, so to
save disappointment and queueing for
days, buy a ticket earlier in the week.
FRIDAY - THE SPHINX (GUILD) SATURDAY - CAVA & LAGO
Did someone say £1.50 pints? After a long
week at uni, why not treat yourself? The
Sphinx is pretty much next to the lecture
theatre on campus and has cheap drinks and
deals on a Friday. It’s got a nice beer garden
outside to chill in and does amazing sweet
potato fries which are a must. I’d recommend
heading here to start your weekend off. If you’re into tequila, Cava is the place for you. With £1 tequila shots of
every single flavour imaginable, it sets you up for a good night. It has a
nice cosy atmosphere, often with a random geezer playing guitar in the
corner and would definitely recommend to a friend.
Finish off the night by heading to Lago. This is an LMSS classic on a
night out. Nice little bar, small dancefloor but banging tunes and all in
all a good time.
SUNDAY - POPWORLD
Popworld is li ke that one friend you can always rely on for a night out. It seems to be open 24/7. If you fancy
bopping along to the Venga Boys, S-Club and other old classics whilst smashing out a few jaegerbombs, this is
your place.
