When asked if it ever gets tense
during interviews with politicians
and businessmen, Bongi Gwala
admits that things can get awk-
ward sometimes, but he tries to
avoid it in most cases. “It does
get tense sometimes, but my
approach is non-confrontation-
al so that guests can be relaxed
and may be able to answer
questions,” says Gwala, the host
of The Talking Point on SAFM.
The 40 something year old vet-
eran broadcaster from Kwazu-
lu-Natal says he always makes
sure that listeners can find the
truth, knowledge and informa-
tion whenever he is on air. “With
the show, we feel like we are
talking to people who love to
absorb information, people who
are in their offices moving from
one meeting to another; we
dissect news in detail and allow
listeners to take part in the con-
versation,” he explains.
