Bongi Gwala | SAFM BY Machaba Matsapola THE TALKING POINT WITH BONGANI GWALA Seasoned broadcaster prefers the non- confrontational approach whenever he is on air. 14 Frequency Magazine When asked if it ever gets tense during interviews with politicians and businessmen, Bongi Gwala admits that things can get awk- ward sometimes, but he tries to avoid it in most cases. “It does get tense sometimes, but my approach is non-confrontation- al so that guests can be relaxed and may be able to answer questions,” says Gwala, the host of The Talking Point on SAFM. The 40 something year old vet- eran broadcaster from Kwazu- lu-Natal says he always makes sure that listeners can find the truth, knowledge and informa- tion whenever he is on air. “With the show, we feel like we are talking to people who love to absorb information, people who are in their offices moving from one meeting to another; we dissect news in detail and allow listeners to take part in the con- versation,” he explains.
