NATE ADAMS insane jumps stacked all over the property, then there’s Faisst’s house with the FMX course and a Speed & Style track around the ramps and then there’s my place with a few ramps and a few smaller scaled Speed & Style lanes that I like to practice on as much as I can. Over the fence from my house is Maddo’s house, and Deegan’s is down the street but I don’t ride there much. Also, Pala Raceway has a freestyle set-up that Renner has been in charge of, I think that’s his foam pit set-up there too. So there’s a whole bunch of courses that are X Games scaled close by. It really is cool to have so many guys around riding. If you want to go riding every single day, you can definitely find someone that will go riding with you. There’s no shortage of guys willing to ride. It’s got to be one of the best spots in the world to live in for motocross in general. We live in it and are used to it so we probably are spoiled for it and you really don’t realize how good you have it until you go to other parts of the world and see what other top riders have to ride on it’s definitely a blessing! What is a normal training focused day like for Nate Adams preparing for X Games? As I’ve gotten older, I pick more wisely how I’m going to train. I used to train really hard but I’m learning now that training smarter is better for me. Instead of doing a long run or a 30-mile road bike ride, I’ll go put in some solid motos or I’ll go ride Speed & Style and make it count when I practice. So that’s kind of what I’ve been doing the last two years to keep it switched up from how I used to train prior to that. A typical day is to: wake up, get some food in my belly, and handle e-mails so that my mind is clear when I’m riding and not thinking about my to-do list for after. I’ll then do a light warm-up in my home gym to get the muscles awakened and loose. Then I’ll head down to the course and start watering; it usually takes about an hour to get the whole thing nice and tacky. Next is to start riding. I try not to start with too many things to work on. I find if I just have a couple of things in mind to work on, whether they’re u £ Nate’s 360 nacs are still some of the steeziest out there FreestyleXtreme.com | 47
