A Bay Area Peninsula music scene favorite, Janel and the Heist is a dance and party band starring Janel Tan,
American Idol, Season 13 contestant. You’ll hear why Janel’s big, soulful voice carried her to a top 40 female
fi nish when she blows you away, then knocks you out with stylish interpretations of today’s top female performers.
Playing top 40 from the last 30 years, you’ll love dancing to contemporary hits from Beyonce’, Nikki Minaj, Jesse
J, Adele, Carrie Underwood, Bruno Mars and more. Surprise mashups with Joe Cocker and Ariana Grande,
Th e Stones, and Th e Who put a new spin on classics everyone loves.
Backed by an all-star set of life-long musicians, Janel and Th e Heist has played corporate gigs for Walmart and
Coca Cola, benefi ts for Harvest Food Bank, Save the Music, Focus Foundation, private parties and nightclubs
throughout the Bay Area. Lead male vocals star Shane McLaughlin, Rock and Roll Music Hall of Fame award
winner. Anthony Th ue, founding member of touring rock band, Doghouse, rounds out the male vocals and lead
guitar, backed on bass by John Avilla, San Martin native and graduate of Live Oak High. Th e band is backed by
Steve Giorgi, whose experience playing in a range of cover bands forms the foundation of the polyrhythmic beat.
