The Interfaith Community of South County and the Interfaith
Clergy Alliance of South County were awarded a 2nd Place
trophy for their entry in the Parade. They had a large colorful
contingent of members of all ages marching. Winning the 2nd Place trophy in Community Service Organiza-
tions was the Morgan Hill Lions Club who brought their full
size “wild” lion along for the fun. Founded in 1917, they are
best known for fighting blindness, but also volunteer for many
different kinds of community projects.
Winning a 1st Place trophy in the Youth Activities, Commercial
category was the United Academy of Martial Arts. Students
from the Academy demonstrated several martial arts moves
and positions in the morning before the parade. It’s the big red wagon from BookSmart full of folks looking for
Waldo! BookSmart, voted the best bookstore in Morgan Hill has
the best in new books, toys, coffee and gourmet ice cream.
The Los Dorados and Charro group pays
tribute to the heritage and tradition of the
Charro. This handsome pair is dressed in
the traditional dress of the Charros. They
received a 1st Place medal.

The Live Oak Emerald Regime is a Morgan Hill tradition. The band has performed
in the Morgan Hill Freedom Fest July 4th Parade every year since it was formed in
1971. This year they won 1st Place trophies in the band, drum major and flag team
categories!
