crowd of eager people stands around the perimeter of a fence waiting . Suddenly , a jet of boiling water shoots out of the ground . The crowd goes crazy . Old Faithful , one of the most famous geysers in the world , has just erupted . I have wanted to see this happen my entire life . I think geysers are like nature ’ s fireworks . This is the biggest reason I want to go to Yellowstone National Park .
Old Faithful is in Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming ( for any of you who are wondering ). It is one of the most famous landmarks in the United States . I try to imagine what it was like for people from our country to see Old Faithful erupt for the first time . On September 8 , 1870 , Nathaniel P . Langford and members of his expedition first came upon Yellowstone . Nathaniel P . Langford wrote : “ Judge , then , what must have been our astonishment as we entered the basin . . . to see in the clear sunlight , at no great distance , an immense volume of clear sparkling water projected into the air to the height of one-hundred and twenty-five feet . We gave it a name , Old Faithful .”
I also want to see the many other wonders of Yellowstone , like the wildlife , Yellowstone Lake , and waterfalls . Yellowstone reminds me how beautiful our country is . Americans , for more than a hundred years , have come here to witness nature ’ s fireworks . Someday , maybe I will go to watch Nature ’ s fireworks on the 4th of July .
Millions of years of erosion caused by wind and water have carved the great sedimentary rocky canyon . The Grand Canyon !!
I want to go to the Grand Canyon because I think it would be extremely and positively awesome ! I can climb into a raft and paddle down the Colorado River . Also , I want to ride a donkey down the canyon . ( My dad doesn ’ t . He ’ s afraid that the donkey will throw him overboard !) I want to climb up that canyon ! Hand , hand , leg , leg , hand , leg , hand , leg . I ’ m picturing myself climbing up the canyon right now while I am writing this sentence .
I am very small compared to the Grand Canyon … very … very … ( how ever many times ) small , compared to the Grand Canyon . I am like an ant in a mansion just hanging around . Even with my family next to me climbing the canyon , we are tiny !
People have discovered that the rock on the bottom of the Grand Canyon is around two billion years old and the rock on the upper rim is around 230 million years old ! There are many different types of rocks found in the canyon . There are igneous , sedimentary , and metamorphic rocks . There is granite with crystalline rocks as well . I am a rock collector and I especially like to crack open geodes and look at the crystals inside the geodes . These are the facts and reasons why I want to go to the Grand Canyon !

would like to visit the Three Soldiers ’ Monument . It is located in Washington , D . C ., and was made in 1984 and added to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial .
The monument represents true heroes that were once young soldiers looking out for their fellow men and women . They were lost or died in the longest war in United States history .
All of the young soldiers came from different nationalities , Hispanic , African , Caucasian , but were all Americans serving the country for freedom , liberty , and independence . The statue of the young men shows the love and loyalty that they ’ re showing . Every American should show that to their family , friends , and community , not just in war time , but all the time .
