Anorexia nervosa is a serious eating disorder. The patients who have it severely limit their amount of food. The consequences of such disorder are harsh such as malnutrition, hormonal imbalance, mental health issues, anemia, skin problems, immune disorders, and death.

Malnutrition is a penalty that happens to our body due to the lack of nutrition. Anorexia nervosa influence to our body is ruthless. First, hormonal imbalance occurs and affects menstrual cycle and influences our normal growth and development in negative ways. The lack of nutrition will influence our muscles and bone; resulting in a decrease of muscle mass and frail bones. We can also have skin problem as well along with discoloration and excess hair production. There can also be heart failure due to circulatory problem. An unhealthy body decrease immunity to infections and reduces capacity for healing and repair. Since the main cause of the Anorexia nervosa is an intense fear of gaining weight, there are also mental health issues, such as mood swing, phobias and loss of mental focus. In the end, the patient can die if the disorder is not treated.
