Founded in 1933, CSG is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization serving all three branches of state govern- ment by fostering the exchange of insights and ideas to help state officials shape public policy. CSG recognized that state leaders increasingly face policy decisions that rely on the understanding and use of scientific data. CSG hosted a policy academy for state legislators to learn more about using science in the development of policy, and Fragrance Creators was asked to join the event. Nguyen spoke alongside Wendy Kennedy, Senior Communication Manager, Procter & Gamble, during the CSG Policy Academy: Using Science to Inform State Policymaking. In her presentation, “Be- yond Perfume: Understanding the Value of Fragrance,” Nguyen provided an overview of the fragrance industry, including how fra- grance is regulated and the industry’s robust safety program. Nguyen also highlighted the importance and benefits of fragrance, and participants were eager to learn more about the value of fragrance. CSG offered a proac- tive way for Fragrance Creators to interact with state policymakers as the voice of the fragrance industry. Learn more about CSG at csg.org.
