ASSOCIATION NEWS Laure Moutet Manheimer Named 2019 Bruell Award Honoree With the presentation of the 2019 Bruell Distinguished Service award, Fragrance Creators expresses its sincere appreciation to Laure for her steady leadership and many contributions to our industry. 26 | FRAGRANCENOTES.ORG | Issue 1, 2019 Laure Moutet Manheimer has devoted her career to the fragrance industry and advocating for fragrance across the globe. With an expertise in essential oils and botanicals, she has remained steadfast in her commitment to advancing suc- cess for customers and colleagues alike. A mentor and friend to many, Laure has been a constant, supportive presence in the industry for nearly 50 years. Born in Grasse, France, Laure was destined to join the world of fragrance, becoming the third generation in her family to join the essential oil businesses. She moved to the United States in 1968, where she continued to grow her business and advance her career. Over four decades, Laure served as Owner and President of JPM Imports, Inc., and Vice President of Sales at J. Manheimer Inc., and Kerry Ingredients & Flavors. Laure was the first woman to serve on the Board of Directors for Fragrance Creators Association (then called Fragrance Ma- terials Association), and the first and only woman to receive the association’s Lifetime Achievement Award. She was the first woman on the Board and a founding member of the European Federation of Essential Oils, where she currently serves. She was also the first recipient of the Women in Flavor and Fragrance Commerce Woman of the Year Award. Continuing her trailblazing record, Laure is the first woman recipient of the Eric Bruell Distinguished Service Award. “Laure is a fabulous industry trailblazer,” said Farah K. Ahmed, President & CEO, Fragrance Creators Association. “She has worked with unending passion and charisma to promote and protect fragrance and its ability to uplift lives.” “Laure is one of our industry’s most beloved leaders,” said Robert Weinstein, Ph.D., Chairman of the Fragrance Creators Board of Directors and President & CEO of Rober- tet USA. “I admire her many achievements, especially her championing of young professionals to ensure the future of our industry is in good hands.” Laure will accept her award and be celebrated at Fragrance Creators’ 2019 Spring Dinner, held April 17th at Westmount Country Club in Woodland Park, New Jersey.
