Choosing which charity to support was another decision process which took place in early summer. The rewards of working with St Andrews 600 have been numerous; close communication, easy cooperation, let alone the opportunity of being able to work for something that allows us students to give back to our university. Our Head of Charity has also been closely
involved with masterminding the London show; the first such event which allows alumni to share in the FS experience, and which takes place the Friday following FS St Andrews.
Keeping us all on our toes, the Marketing and Advertising team have excelled their technological prowess with the production of Fragments, the online magazine, the FS website, as well as various publicity and programs for the two shows. Always with a finger on the pulse, M&A have
transcended the divide between our university fashion show and the outer world with their phenomenal videos. Having worked with every department, our dedicated man behind the camera has seen all the action and even
produced videos for some of our sponsors. His take on the future of FS? Companies are using more and more videos for advertising and promotion, this year filming has played a much bigger part within FS and it’s a fantastic way for us to evolve.
Highlight of FS 2013? “The day we launched the model intro shoot, our website went down due to the sheer volume of traffic.”
The creative aspect of the show, well that’s been left in the safe hands of our four creative girls. They’ve been non-stop this week with the arrival of clothes, a jubilant moment after months of international phone calls and endless emails, and models’ fittings (not that that seems like such a chore..) Saturday is their big day; after make-up and hair, they’ll be hurrying around backstage to ensure the clothes are on the right people at the right time. With a sensational list of designers, and having doubled the number of clothes from last year, FS 2013 is going to be a kaleidoscope of craftsmanship and design; a fitting realisation of our theme...Fragments of the Imagination.
Lastly, but of the greatest importance, our twenty two models, who’ve spent over three months honing their walks. The big change for them this year is the sheer size of the catwalk and it’s extraordinary shape. With strong choreography and a dramatic opening, these models are ready to get FS off to an electrifying start.
Anonymous: “the best bit of FS 2013? The good looking girls of course (cheeky smile.)”
As for our music man, well he’s currently “deep in thought,” but we have every faith in his talent, and can’t wait for the beat to drop and for the party to begin.
In the words of our very own director, “FS is going to be silly.”
