Forever Keele 11 Keele climbs in Guardian rankings Keele University has climbed to 32nd place in the Guardian University Guide 2020, our highest ever ranking, and has seen five subjects achieve UK Top 10 status. Keele also ranked joint second in England for student satisfaction for Course and Teaching. The subject areas ranked in the UK Top 10 includes: • Medicine - 3rd • Politics (including International Relations) - 4th • Nursing and Midwifery - 6th • Pharmacy and Pharmacology - 10th In England, Medicine at Keele is ranked second behind only Oxford, and Politics is ranked third closely behind Oxford and Cambridge. This improvement builds on the significant achievements made by Keele over the past 12 months, which included being shortlisted for ‘University of the Year’ in the Times Higher Education Awards 2018 and again ranked as number one in England for student satisfaction in the National Student Survey 2018. Medical School success The standard of training provided through Keele’s Medical School has been praised, after its exemplary curriculum was recently bought by Sunderland for their newly-opened Medical School. This further builds on Keele’s reputation as an excellent facility, which sees some of the UK’s top surgeons using the Medical School’s Anatomy Suite to learn and practice new surgical techniques. The Keele Medical School has recently introduced new degrees such as Radiography, Health and Wellbeing, Rehabilitation Sciences, Psychology and Counselling, all supported by a 30% increase in the number of places available to students. Harper & Keele Veterinary School Combining the extensive resources of Harper Adams University and Keele University, the new Veterinary School will help students graduate with the required skills to be immediately effective first opinion practitioners in the rapidly changing modern veterinary and animal welfare industries. The new Vet School will provide a five-year programme leading to a Bachelors in Veterinary Medicine and Surgery, with training delivered on both University campuses in partnership with local clinical providers and industry. Accreditation will come from the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.
