The David V. Duchini’ 41 Family Scholarship Fund $ 119,544 total
Established in 2007 by the estate of David Duchini, this endowment was created“ to thank the Prep for the education he received and to help the school continue its educational mission.” While a Prep student, David played baseball and was a member of the Knights of the Blessed Sacrament. He was President of Adolph ' s Trucking Company in Manhattan.
Christopher M. Duffy’ 96 Scholarship Fund $ 1,021,053 total $ 6,892 new contributions
Established in 2002 by his family to honor the life of Christopher Duffy, this fund helps“ young men from Yonkers, New York receive a Fordham Prep education.” While attending the Prep, Chris was a senior captain of both the football and lacrosse teams. Following graduation from Villanova University, he joined Keefe, Bruyette & Woods and was at work in the South Tower of the World Trade Center the morning of 9 / 11 / 01 and died when the tower collapsed.
Thomas A. Elia’ 63 Scholarship Fund $ 42,123 total
Established in 1996 by his family and former football teammates“ to honor the accomplishments and legacy of Thomas Elia,” this fund increases the endowment available for scholarships at Fordham Prep. An all-around athlete at the Prep( football, baseball and track), Tom was also a member of the Sanctuary Society. He was a chef at the time of his passing.
Edward FitzPatrick Scholarship Fund $ 193,623 total $ 9,450 new contributions
Established in 1998 by the contributions of family members and friends in honor of Fordham Prep parent, Edward Fitzpatrick, this fund supplements endowment for student scholarships. He was an attorney at Shea & Gould, one of New York’ s best known law firms. Sons, Francis’ 86, Mark’ 88 and Timothy’ 93, each graduated from Fordham Prep. Grandsons Jack’ 18 and Francis’ 20, sons of Francis `86, currently attend the Prep.
The Fitzpatrick Family Financial Aid Fund $ 311,432 total
Established in 2014 by bequest by Elizabeth( Betty) Fitzpatrick( 1926-2010) to honor the vocation and work of her brother, Rev. Mallick J. Fitzpatrick, SJ, this fund provides financial assistance to families who are unable to afford Fordham Prep tuition. Betty dedicated her life to helping girls and families in need through The Children’ s Aid Society. Father“ Fitz” served the Prep as counselor, teacher, coach and priest for over fifty-six years. He is the architect and prime mover of the school’ s innovative Group Guidance and College Counseling programs and the Advanced Placement Art History course.
Ann and Dennis J. FitzSimons’ 67 Scholarship Fund $ 214,251 total $ 100,000 new contributions
Established in 2015 by Ann and Dennis FitzSimons, the fund is awarded annually to students who evidence their desire for a Fordham Prep education by demonstrating academic achievement, a strong work ethic and moral compass, but who would otherwise be unable to attend Fordham Prep without substantial financial assistance.
Terence Fleming-Warren’ 00 Endowed Scholarship $ 82,600 total
Established in 2017 by friends and family of Terence, this scholarship is awarded to a Prep student with demonstrated financial need who is in good academic standing and has shown his commitment to Prep athletics, either as a player or team manager. Terence was a member of the football and lacrosse teams, the National Honor Society, and a great friend to all. After the Prep, Terence graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and then the Washington University School of Law. He went on to a successful legal career, spending the majority of his time serving as an assistant district attorney in Brooklyn.
Richard P. Flood ' 51 Endowment Fund $ 1,132,965 total
Established in 1993 by the estate of Richard Flood, this endowment provides support in memory of Prep and University( 1956) graduate, Richard Flood. The fund benefits two programs at Fordham Prep: a portion is designated to support Campus Ministry, with the remainder used for general scholarship purposes. Hailing from Yonkers, Richard was a member of Sodality, Knights of the Blessed Sacrament, Physics Club, French Club and debating team as a Prep student. He spent his career working for the City of New York.
