Athletics
This year’s freshman team captured the city championship
and the varsity made it to their championship game for the
3rd year in a row, falling to Msgr. Farrell 53-51 in overtime
in the CHSAA ‘A’ Division finals.
Cross Country
The varsity repeated as Bronx Champs with senior Niall
Ryan winning the individual title with the fastest time in 15
years. This year, the varsity finished 7th in the Catholic City
Championship and 10th in the CHSAA States Championship.
Sophomore Eamonn Sullivan captured the N.Y. State
Catholic Sophomore Cross Country title in a time of 13:28
for the 2.5-mile course. Eamonn is just the 3rd Prep
sophomore to win this title in its 39-year history.
Soccer
Varsity Basketball
The varsity finished the regular season with a 9-2-4 record
earning the #2 seed in the Archdiocesan Division. After a
convincing 4-0 victory in the CHSAA intersectional quarter-
final against Xaverian, they advanced to the semi-finals
against St. Francis Prep at St. John’s University. Tied 1-1,
a late St. Francis Prep goal gave them the 2-1 victory.
Congratulations to the varsity on winning the CHSAA ‘AA’
title with a 5-2 win over Xavier. This is the first City
Championship for the team in 12 years and only the fourth
in the 44-year history of the hockey program.
