is studying at Fordham University’s Graduate School of Education at Lincoln Center. Jim holds a BS in Business Administration: Accounting from the University of Dayton and an MS in Accountancy from the University of Notre Dame. Jim will spend two years teaching at the Prep as he completes his master’s degree. Mrs. Theresa Murray will teach Algebra 2-Trigonometry and Statistics Honors in our Mathematics Department. She holds a BS degree in Finance/Economics from Ithaca College, an MBA in Finance from Fordham University and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in Education from Pace University. Theresa most recently taught for seven years at St. Raymond High School for Boys in the Bronx. She will also co-moderate the Prep’s Business School 099 Club. Mr. Anthony Palombi joins us full-time in the Counseling Department as a School Counselor. He holds a BS in Psychology and Marketing from Fordham University, an MSEd in Counseling and Mental Health Services and am MPhilEd in Professional Counseling, both from the University of Pennsylvania. Anthony has most recently worked at his alma mater, St. Joseph’s Preparatory School, our brother Jesuit school in Philadelphia, PA. Q&A with Mr. Chad Broussard, Assistant Principal for Academics & Student Life Tell us a little bit about your background - I know you were the Head of School at St. Anthony in Jersey City before joining the Prep, but tell us a little bit about your family and your journey into education. I am from a family of educators in Louisiana, and I began my journey in education as a high school teacher. I taught English Literature classes in San Antonio, TX. A few years later, I earned my principalship certification and became a school administrator at 27. I have been a school leader for the past nine years and find myself still enjoying the work because I know that education is my vocation. What drew you to Fordham Prep? I was drawn to interview for the position because of the strong academic programming and rich traditions of the school. Are you familiar with the Jesuits? Yes, I am, but I am learning so much more. Mr. Corey Punter ’07 returns to his alma mater as our new Associate Director of Admissions. Corey holds a BA in Culture How do you see yourself in your role? and Deviance Studies from CUNY John Jay. He has worked with I see myself supporting students and their families and also working with teachers and administrators collaboratively. I want to create systems so that my office will be more productive and functional and serve with a modern purpose. both national and international non-profit organizations and institutions of higher education. Corey most recently served as a Development Assistant at A Better Chance, an organization whose mission is to increase educational opportunities for young boys and girls of color. What plans do you have for this year and beyond? I want to observe to see how procedures and process function first and if there is a need to update or modify anything. Then I shall meet and discuss new ideas with stakeholders. Mr. Omar Brent Ward ’92 will teach Algebra 1 and Geometry in our Mathematics Department. Brent holds a BS in Sports Medicine and Physical Education from Manhattan College. He brings 17 years of teaching experience, all during his long career at his alma mater, St. Helena School in the Bronx. Brent has served as the head coach of the Prep’s junior varsity basketball team since 2013. Final thoughts about the position and joining the Fordham Prep community? I have enjoyed the warm welcome from the students, parents, teachers and even board members, and I look forward to making positive contributions to this community of life-long learning and the pursuit of wanting to be a better human being.
