KUNI NAKAMURA , Class of 1986 and member of the Prep ’ s Board of Trustees , passed on October 15th , 2023 . Kuni was a beloved father , son , husband , friend , and member of the Fordham Prep Community .
He was a loyal friend known for his joyful carpe diem approach to life , entrepreneurial spirit , steadfast ability to get things done , and his generosity and willingness to always help others .
A proud Prep alumnus , Kuni established the KEN C . D . F . Foundation Kuni Nakamura ’ 86 Endowed Scholarship , which ensures that students of all economic backgrounds are able to receive a Prep education by supporting middle-income students who would otherwise be unable to attend Fordham Prep .
As an influential member of the Prep ’ s Board of Trustees , Kuni had a prominent voice in the many decisions that shape the future of the Prep and its students . He hoped that his impact upon the Prep would be to help secure a promising educational future for less fortunate students . Kuni had a passion for mentoring and guiding students through their education which drew him to join the Prep ’ s Board of Trustees where he could be deeply involved in the future of young students .
Kuni was a kind , caring , humble man with a generous spirit . His presence is deeply missed among the Fordham Prep Community .
