Brian Downey entered Fordham Prep in the fall of 1991 . He commuted from Riverdale each morning with many other Prep students who lived in that area of the Bronx .
“ All the way through ( my time as a student at the Prep ), it just became a home away from home , especially after playing sports ,” Downey remembers . “ There was no going home after school . You just seemed to stay there and it became another family ,” he continued .
