In announcing his departure to Fordham Prep ’ s faculty and staff , Father Devron praised their contribution as Ignatian educators :

You have taught me extraordinary lessons about the power and impact of selfless and generous service and care . Your thoughtful kindness to our students — especially when they suffer and need your compassion — is a model to me . The challenging yet gentle way you invite them to new intellectual and personal growth , and your openness to our mission of faith and service inspire me . Your commitment to building a community of cura personalis among our students , faculty , and staff encourages me .”
He also thanked the wider Prep community :

assist the Prep in developing educated , informed , and engaged citizens committed to the common good . This includes the establishment of the annual FitzSimons Civics Symposium .
The George Jackson ’ 76 Initiative , which established a scholarship fund for Black students and a mentoring program for recipients of the scholarship as well as firstgeneration students of all backgrounds .
A comprehensive Curriculum Review to ensure that each academic discipline offers an educational experience that is aligned with the school ’ s Catholic Jesuit mission of excellence and prepares students to be lifelong learners .
A comprehensive plan to ground the Prep ’ s approach to diversity , equity , and inclusion in Catholic Social Teaching and our Ignatian tradition to promote dignity , belonging , and justice .
Support for our critical Ignatian Formation Programs , such as the Emmaus Retreat programs , and enhancements to faith and service opportunities for our adult community .
An interscholastic Athletics Program that offers 41 teams in 18 unique sports with the recent addition of squash .
Admissions and enrollment
Expanded both geographic and cultural diversity with enrolled students from over 110 unique zip codes along with 40 % identifying as a student of color , a 30 % increase .
Enhanced tuition assistance for middle-income families by offering three times more financial aid and yielding 80 % more middle-income families as compared to 2013 .
Increased merit scholarship awards by 60 % to continue to attract the area ’ s most academically talented students .
Oversaw a 60 % increase in student enrollment from Manhattan .
Sustained robust application and enrollment numbers with a current student population of over 900 .
Ensured no student withdrew from the Prep due to the pandemic and loss of family income . Met financial needs demonstrated by all families .
Reorganized the Admissions Office and established an integrated approach to admissions , enrollment , communications and marketing through the addition of new staff positions .
