O ME , BEING A STUDENT AT A JESUIT SCHOOL MEANS that I am immersed in the presence of God , in all aspects of my education and life . With a Jesuit education based in faith , scholarship , and service , we prioritize being men for others in our everyday lives . Specifically at the Prep , we are men for others through all our actions whether it be through peer tutoring , helping out at P . O . T . S ., or building houses in Tennessee on Fordham Lane . Additionally , a Jesuit education nurtures its students to be the best version of themselves , encompassing imagination , emotion , reflection , solidarity , and true brotherhood .
“ As students at the Prep , we acquire the skills and knowledge to excel as good citizens , leading a life of service , faith and intellectual curiosity helping us to succeed in the classroom , on the field , and in life . Being fortunate enough to attend a Jesuit school also means being an exemplary global citizen ; at Fordham Prep we are presented with countless opportunities to deepen our global contributions , with the Global Scholars Program , and the Global Education Program . The 500th anniversary of Ignatius ’ conversion is truly a testament to Jesuit education ’ s effectiveness , practicality and reverence . I truly feel honored to be a valued member of the Jesuit school tradition at Fordham Prep , and I look forward to furthering my education at a Jesuit university .”
DAMIEN , A LONG-TIME CLASS REP and stalwart supporter of the Prep , was instrumental in the founding of the Top Corner Club , our Lacrosse booster program . A member of Fordham ’ s Varsity Lacrosse team , who won the 1993 Metro League Championship ( precursor to the CHSAA ), Damien excelled academically as a member of the National Honor Society . These days , he works at SPX Capital , and is a regular attendee at Prep events . You can find Damien beating the drum for Class of ’ 95 attendance at Reunions , holding court at Oktoberfest , serving on the Alumni / Trustee Committee for the Igniting Our Mission Gala , and hosting our alumni on Rowen Athletic Field every summer for the Lacrosse Alumni Game & Fundraiser .
Damien has always had his eye on the long-term future of the school , and the programming that makes the Prep so special — even before the birth of his son , James , FP Class of ’ 38 . He continues to work to covert the Top Corner Club ’ s fundraising efforts into a permanent endowment in support of the Fordham Prep Lacrosse Program , in an effort to ensure one of the Prep ’ s most successful athletic programs is an opportunity available to every Ram , and that lacrosse will continue to be one of the Prep ’ s great sports teams . Damien — from all of us here at the Prep , thank you !
