S ince it was established in 2018 , the Class of ’ 00 Terence Fleming-Warren Scholarship Fund has raised over $ 330,000 and is well on its way to meeting the Scholarship Committee ’ s goal of funding a $ 500,000 fully endowed scholarship by their 25th class reunion . Through the commitment of Scholarship Committee members Christopher DiTata ’ 00 , Kevin Wanago ’ 00 , and Robert Sheehan , a college friend of Fleming- Warren ’ s , as well as Frank Lively ’ 00 and other fellow classmates , the Class of 2000 is the youngest class in Prep history to have achieved this milestone .

Family and friends remember Fleming-Warren as being “ larger than life .” Additional words his classmates use to describe him include “ selfless ,” “ intelligent ,” “ funny ,” and “ wonderful friend .” He played Varsity Lacrosse , served as captain of the Varsity Football team at Fordham Prep , and was a member of the National Honor Society as well as the school ’ s newspaper Rampart .
“ We talked about doing a plaque for the locker room , but ultimately thought a scholarship would be a better way to help kids in his memory ,” Wanago replied when asked about the Class of 2000 ’ s decision to start the scholarship fund . Fleming- Warren and Wanago became friends during their sophomore year at Fordham Prep .
After graduating from Fordham Prep , Fleming-Warren went on to study at the University of Pennsylvania and then
Washington University School of Law before working for the Domestic Violence Bureau of the Brooklyn District Attorney ’ s Office .
“ His time ended prematurely ,” said DiTata , who played on the Prep ’ s football team alongside Fleming-Warren . “ His classmates know that Fordham Prep was really important to him ,” he explained . DiTata recalled that Fleming-Warren , who was the best man at his wedding , “ was always a true man for others .”
“ It ’ s a fantastic community to have been a part of ,” Lively stated . “ I was fortunate enough to have met Terence through Fordham Prep , and am very happy to be able to give back through the scholarship and the school , and to honor Terence ’ s memory . He was a valuable contributor to the school and its mission ,” he continued .
Fleming-Warren would have celebrated his 40th birthday on November 2 , 2021 . His mother , Loraine Fleming , is continually touched by the kindness of his classmates .
“ I think the values and the whole concept of a ‘ man for others ’ are reflected in how the other students and his friends who helped establish the scholarship fund have kept in touch with me ,” she began . “ They never miss his birthday . They ’ re just wonderful young men , and I really think Fordham Prep had a lot to do with that ,” she continued .
Fleming-Warren ’ s passing at such a young age brought to light the tight-knit brotherhood that is fostered at Fordham Prep . “ The fact that a group of alumni came together to organize this to honor our friend signals to prospective students the kind of strong ethos that Fordham Prep provides to those that attend the school , and how lasting that is ,” Lively said .
Support from such a young class of alumni is exceptional — nonetheless , the Terence Fleming-Warren ’ 00 Scholarship Fund collectively represents one of the core values ingrained in Fordham Prep ’ s Jesuit education : men for others .
“ I am eternally grateful for the class that has supported this scholarship ,” Loraine Fleming remarked .
The Class of 2000 returns to Fordham Prep for their 20th Reunion in May 2022 after it was postponed in 2020 due to the pandemic .
