Driving further. The program of “A Different Girl” was a wonderful experience to be in. Every week was a different activity that related to “STEM”, Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. Each of the groups shared the idea of what they would like to do and we did our possible to accomplish the things they wanted to do. When I had an idea they were taken and we will incorporate the ideas in order to have fun and learned something new each day. Being next to these girls and having conversations I can tell that many of them want to be like others and follow the American Dream. Which is, having a good career and going to college and getting the best education that they couldn’t get in there country. When I heard that Ms. Agnes and other people wanted to create this program, I was really excited because I have alwayswanted to meet someone from a different country other than Mexico. I could learn new languages and new cultures with these girls and the way they communicated with each other was really exciting. I hope and wish that we can continue with this program and come back and visit, and mentor more pepe. Maria Labastida Dreaming Bigger. Decidete Mujer’s “A Different Girl” program has allowed me to become a mentor to girls that will do great things in the future. I’ve never imagined having such an important role.
