Job description
RAF Regiment Gunners specialise in ground combat and security operations , using advanced surveillance systems and weaponry to provide round the clock protection to RAF aircraft , operating bases and personnel ; at home and overseas . Typical responsibilities include : Providing ground combat support in deployed operations and training other RAF personnel in defensive military skills . Forward Air Controlling in support of deployed operations , supporting Specials Forces operations and undertaking ceremonial duties .
Pay Entry Level Usual Service
Pay During training - £ 15,985 + Benefits Initial pay after training - £ 20,400 + Benefits
Airmen / Airwomen
12 Years ( 3 years minimum after training )
Age
Open to men and women aged between 16 and 47 years of age . ( Must attest before 48th birthday )

Qualifications
Qualifications you need : You do not require any formal qualifications . Qualifications you will gain : Functional Skills Level 2 - Maths and English . Apprenticeship - NVQ Level 2 - Public Services Operational Delivery . Driving qualifications as required . Further leadership and management qualifications throughout your career .
Nationality
You must be a citizen of the United Kingdom or the Republic of Ireland , a holder of dual UK / other nationality or have been a Commonwealth citizen since birth .
Residency
Whether or not you were born in the United Kingdom , you should have resided there for the 5 years immediately preceding your application .
