onteland United FC is over
100 years old and is a highly
respected, well run FA Charter
Standard Community Club. Their
first team currently competes in
the Northern Alliance Premier
Division and they are led by
Chairman Paul Brooks who is
supported by Secretary Alan
Birkinshaw.
So far this season their first team has been in fine form,
putting together a record of nine wins, two draws and five
defeats from their sixteen matches. This sees them sitting in
the top half of the table with 29 points on the board.
This should provide them with a solid platform from which
to build as they head into 2019. As long as they are able to keep
their current group of players together and can perhaps make
one or two quality additions they will have a good chance of a
successful campaign.
One of the highlights of the team’s performances has been
the attacking brand of football they have been able to produce.
This has been reflected by the fact that they have found the
back of the net thirty-eight times at a rate of more than two
per game.
