Coggleshall Town
Coggleshall Town
FOOTBALL CLUB
First established in 1878, Coggeshall Town FC is based on West Street in Essex
and their first team currently competes in the North Division of the Isthmian League
having been promoted as champions last season. They are led by Chairman Graeme
Smith who is supported by Secretary Peter Smith and the club has been progressing
well under their guidance.
So far this season their first team has made a fine start to
their league campaign, putting together a record of eight
wins, four draws and two defeats from their
fourteen league matches. This sees them
sitting near the top of the table with
twenty-eight points on the board.
This should provide the team
with the perfect platform from
which to go on and put together
a successful season. As long as
they are able to retain their
current group of players and
perhaps make one or two
quality additions the future
is looking very bright.
One of the highlights of
the team’s performances has
been the attacking brand of
football they have been able
to produce. This has been
reflected by the fact that they
have found the back of the net
thirty-two times already at a rate
of more than two per game.
This will certainly have meant that
any supporters attending their matches
will have been well entertained and should
encourage more of the local community to get
behind the side in the future. This in turn has the potential to
provide them with a valuable source of additional revenue.
Coggeshall Town FC is not a club to focus solely upon
their senior section and this is reflected by the
number of youth sides they run. This part
of their set up looks to provide young
players from the local community with
an opportunity to play the game in
a safe and enjoyable environment
whilst helping them to reach
their full potential.
It is important for any
club looking to be successful
over a sustained period of
time to be able to produce
their own talent and this is
an area they appear to have
covered. It will certainly
be exciting to see how their
youngsters can progress over
the coming years.
Coggeshall Town’s success
is a just reward for all of the
hard work that has gone into the
club. If they continue in the same
manner then they should be able to
look forwards to a bright and successful
future for many years to come.
